Chastisement

“then I will walk in fury against you, and I, even I, will punish you sevenfold for your sins.”

“Know this day that it is not your children who have known and seen the discipline of the LORD your God: His greatness, His mighty hand, and His outstretched arm;”

“and so that you may live long in the land that the LORD swore to your fathers to give them and their descendants, a land flowing with milk and honey.”

“I will be his Father, and he will be My son. When he does wrong, I will discipline him with the rod of men and with the blows of the sons of men.”

“But My loving devotion will never be removed from him as I removed it from Saul, whom I moved out of your way.”

“When Your people Israel are defeated before an enemy because they have sinned against You, and they return to You and confess Your name, praying and pleading before You in this temple,”

“If I close the sky so there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send a plague among My people,”

“and if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.”
