Eucharist (the Lord's Supper)

“On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Where do You want us to prepare for You to eat the Passover?””

“While they were eating, Jesus took bread, spoke a blessing and broke it, and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take it; this is My body.””

“Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’”

“And He took the bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body, given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.””

“In the same way, after supper He took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is poured out for you.”

“It was now just before the Passover Feast, and Jesus knew that His hour had come to leave this world and return to the Father. Having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the very end.”

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”

“With one accord they continued to meet daily in the temple courts and to break bread from house to house, sharing their meals with gladness and sincerity of heart,”
