Martyrdom

“Yet for Your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”

“Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rise against their parents and have them put to death.”

“You will be hated by everyone because of My name, but the one who perseveres to the end will be saved.”

“Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.”

“For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.”

“Because of this, I am sending you prophets and wise men and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify, and others you will flog in your synagogues and persecute in town after town.”

“And so upon you will come all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.”

“Then they will deliver you over to be persecuted and killed, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name.”
