Sleep

“In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for bread to eat— for He gives sleep to His beloved.”

“How long will you lie there, O slacker? When will you get up from your sleep?”

“A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest,”

“Suddenly a violent storm came up on the sea, so that the boat was engulfed by the waves; but Jesus was sleeping.”

“But Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on the cushion. So they woke Him and said, “Teacher, don’t You care that we are perishing?””

“As they sailed, He fell asleep, and a windstorm came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger.”

“so a man lies down and does not rise. Until the heavens are no more, he will not be awakened or roused from sleep.”

““Go away,” He told them. “The girl is not dead, but asleep.” And they laughed at Him.”
