A.T. Robertson
Archibald Thomas Robertson (1863–1934) was an American Baptist New Testament scholar and professor at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary for over forty years. His Word Pictures in the New Testament (six volumes, 1930–1933) provides a verse-by-verse philological commentary on the Greek New Testament, explaining grammatical constructions, word derivations, and nuances of the original Greek with exceptional clarity. Robertson was also the author of A Grammar of the Greek New Testament in the Light of Historical Research (1914), the most comprehensive English-language Greek NT grammar of the early twentieth century. His Word Pictures entered the public domain and is widely valued by preachers and students for making the riches of the Greek text accessible without requiring advanced classical training.
