Aaronites
Person
The Aaronites were the priestly descendants of Aaron, constituting the hereditary priesthood of Israel. As a distinct group they appear most prominently in the military and administrative records of David's reign: Jehoiada the son of Benaiah led 3,700 Aaronites as fighting men to support David at Hebron. Eleazar the son of Aaron served as their chief during the wilderness period, and Zadok held that leadership role in the time of David.
