Achshaph

Achshaph (meaning fascination or tricks) was a royal Canaanite city in the northern reaches of Palestine whose king joined the coalition assembled by Jabin of Hazor against Joshua's army (Joshua 11:1). After the Israelite victory it was listed among the conquered Canaanite kingdoms (Joshua 12:20) and assigned as a boundary landmark of the tribe of Asher (Joshua 19:25). It is tentatively identified with the modern ruins of Yasif or Kesaf, northeast of Accho.
