Ahiam

Ahiam (meaning mother's brother or a brother of the mother) was a son of Sharar (or Sacar in 1 Chronicles 11:35) the Hararite, and one of David's thirty heroes — the second tier of David's elite fighting corps. He is listed in 2 Samuel 23:33 and the parallel list in 1 Chronicles 11:35 among the military champions whose individual acts of valor are described or whose names are recorded in connection with David's campaigns against the Philistines.

Ahiam receives no individual narrative in Scripture beyond his inclusion in the roster of David's thirty. The Hararite designation — shared by other of David's warriors — likely indicates an origin in the mountainous regions of Judah or Benjamin. His inclusion among the thirty places him in the inner circle of the loyalty network that sustained David's military capacity.
