Ahihud

Ahihud (meaning brother of union or brother of vanity) is the name of two men in the Old Testament. The first was a son of Bela, the son of Benjamin, listed in 1 Chronicles 8:7 in the tribal genealogy of Benjamin. The second was the son of Shelomi and the appointed representative of the tribe of Asher assigned to assist in dividing the land of Canaan among the tribes; he is named in Numbers 34:27 as one of the ten leaders designated by God for this purpose.

Neither figure plays an individual narrative role in Scripture beyond these genealogical and administrative references. The second Ahihud's appointment as a representative in the land division was a position of considerable practical significance, given that the equitable distribution of the tribal inheritances was a foundational act of the settlement under Joshua.
