Ahira

Ahira (meaning brother of iniquity or my brother is a friend) was the son of Enan and the appointed chief of the tribe of Naphtali during Israel's wilderness period. He is first named in Numbers 1:15 as Naphtali's representative in the census of fighting men, where his tribe numbered 53,400. In Numbers 2:29, his division was assigned the position on the north side of the tabernacle and marched as part of the rear guard under the standard of Dan. He also offered the twelfth and final dedication offering at the consecration of the tabernacle, his offering listed in detail in Numbers 7:78–83.

As the last tribe in the marching order and the last to offer at the tabernacle dedication, Naphtali under Ahira closed out both the military organization of the wilderness camp and the twelve-day dedication ceremony. Ahira is known entirely through these administrative and ceremonial records and receives no individual narrative treatment.
