Ahoah

Ahoah, meaning a live brother or my thorn, was one of the sons of Bela, the firstborn of Benjamin, appearing in the genealogical registers of 1 Chronicles (8:4; 7:7). His significance lies chiefly in having given his name to the Ahohite clan, a designation borne by several of David's most distinguished warriors, including Dodo the father of Eleazar (one of the three chief mighty men) and Zalmon (2 Sam. 23:9, 28). The clan's military prominence despite Benjamin's Saulide associations illustrates how individual families transcended tribal politics in service to David.
