Aholiab

Aholiab, meaning tent of the father, was an artisan of the tribe of Dan chosen by God to assist Bezaleel in the construction of the tabernacle and its furnishings. He is described as specially endowed with wisdom, understanding, and knowledge in all manner of craftsmanship — cutting stones, carving wood, and working in textiles (Exod. 31:6; 35:34). His tribal origin in Dan is notable: while Bezaleel came from the royal tribe of Judah, the collaboration between Judah and Dan in the sanctuary's construction symbolized the shared responsibility of all Israel.

Aholiab was particularly skilled in embroidery and weaving, contributing to the priestly garments and the tabernacle curtains. His Spirit-given abilities represent one of the earliest explicit accounts of divine equipping for skilled labor in service of God's dwelling place.
