Almodad
Person Name
Name meaning: "measure of God"
Almodad (meaning measure of God or immeasurable) was the first named of the sons of Joktan in the Table of Nations (Gen. 10:26), descended from Shem through Eber. Joktan's thirteen sons are understood as ancestors of various Arabian tribes, making Almodad a progenitor of a Semitic people in the southern Arabian Peninsula. He is not mentioned elsewhere in Scripture. His name may be preserved in ancient Yemeni tribal or geographic designations, though precise identification remains uncertain.
