Ammah

Ammah (meaning a cubit or my people) was a hill in the territory of Benjamin near Giah, east of Gibeon, to which Joab and Abishai pursued Abner and his men after the battle at the pool of Gibeon (2 Sam. 2:24). It was at Ammah that Abner called for a cessation of pursuit, and Joab agreed, allowing the army of Ish-bosheth to withdraw. The site marks a critical moment in the prolonged contest between the houses of David and Saul in the years following David's establishment at Hebron. Its precise location has not been identified.
