Aristarchus

Aristarchus (meaning best ruler) was a native of Thessalonica who became one of Paul's closest and most loyal companions. He was seized by the Ephesian mob during the riot of the silversmiths (Acts 19:29) and traveled with Paul on his final journey toward Jerusalem (Acts 20:4). He accompanied Paul on the sea voyage to Rome, sharing the shipwreck off Malta (Acts 27:2), and remained with him during his Roman imprisonment, described as a fellow prisoner and fellow worker in Colossians 4:10 and Philemon 24.
