Ashdoth-pisgah
Place
Ashdoth-pisgah (meaning the slopes of Pisgah) refers to the descending ravines and slopes on the western face of the Pisgah/Abarim mountain range, bordering the eastern shore of the Dead Sea and the Jordan valley. The name occurs in boundary and territorial descriptions for the eastern side of the Jordan (Deuteronomy 3:17; 4:49; Joshua 12:3; 13:20) rather than in any narrative event.
