Azal
Place
Azal appears in Zechariah 14:5 in the eschatological vision of the day of the LORD, describing a cataclysmic splitting of the Mount of Olives that would create a great valley through which the survivors would flee—as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah—with the valley extending to Azal. The location is uncertain; some suggest it was very near Jerusalem, others read the Hebrew as an adverb meaning very near rather than a proper name.
