Bahurim

Bahurim (meaning young men or choice warriors) was a village east of Jerusalem on the road to the Jordan, in the territory of Benjamin. It appears several times in the narrative of David's reign. After Abner took Michal from Paltiel and returned her to David, Paltiel followed her weeping as far as Bahurim before turning back (2 Samuel 3:16). When David fled Jerusalem during Absalom's rebellion, Shimei son of Gera came from Bahurim, cursing David and throwing stones at him (2 Samuel 16:5) — an act David forbade his men to punish, later regretting his leniency in his deathbed instructions to Solomon.

Jonathan and Ahimaaz hid in a well at Bahurim while carrying intelligence from Hushai to David, concealed by a woman who spread a covering over the well (2 Samuel 17:18). The village is identified with the modern Ras et-Tmim northeast of Jerusalem, and it was home to Azmaveth, one of David's thirty heroes (2 Samuel 23:31).
