Bath-rabbim

Bath-rabbim (meaning daughter of many) was a gate of the ancient Ammonite city of Heshbon, east of the Jordan, near which were pools. It is mentioned only in the Song of Solomon 7:4, where the beloved's eyes are compared to the pools by the gate of Bath-rabbim—an image of depth, clarity, and beauty. The pools at Heshbon may have been the city's reservoirs. No historical event is associated with the name.
