Bedstead

The most notable bedstead in Scripture is the iron bedstead of Og king of Bashan, preserved at Rabbath-ammon and measuring nine cubits long by four cubits wide (approximately 13–14 feet by 6 feet), cited as proof of Og's gigantic stature (Deuteronomy 3:11). This detail was long preserved as a monument to Israel's great conquest east of the Jordan. The word translated bedstead may also refer to a sarcophagus or funerary couch in Og's case. Elsewhere the same Hebrew word is rendered couch or bed.
