Beeves

Beeves is an archaic English plural of beef, used in the Authorized Version to denote bovine cattle—oxen, bulls, and cows. It appears in Leviticus 22:19, 21 for animals offered as sacrifices, and in Numbers 31:28, 30, 33, 38, 44 in the distribution of plunder taken from Midian. The word is not found in modern translations, which use cattle or oxen. In Old Testament law, cattle were among the most prized animals for both agricultural work and sacrificial offering.
