Cab

Cab (also spelled kab) was a Hebrew unit of dry measure equal to one-sixth of a seah, or approximately two quarts. It appears only once in Scripture, in the account of the siege of Samaria by Ben-hadad of Syria, when famine conditions were so severe that a cab of dove's dung sold for five pieces of silver (2 Kings 6:25). The extreme price illustrated the desperation of the besieged population. The cab was among the smaller measures of the Hebrew system, which also included the omer, seah, ephah, and homer.
