Cabins

The word cabins occurs once in the King James Version (Jeremiah 37:16), referring to the cells or vaulted chambers of the dungeon in which the prophet Jeremiah was imprisoned. The Hebrew term suggests a pit-dungeon subdivided into small enclosures. Jeremiah had been cast into this prison by those who accused him of deserting to the Babylonians during the siege of Jerusalem. He remained in these close quarters until Ebed-melech secured his transfer to the court of the prison at the king's command.
