Cana

Cana (meaning reedy or of the reeds, from Hebrew qaneh) was a town of Galilee where Jesus performed his first recorded miracle, turning water into wine at a wedding feast (John 2:1–11). It is also mentioned as the place where Jesus healed the son of a royal official from a distance while at Cana, the boy being in Capernaum (John 4:46–54). Cana was the hometown of Nathanael (John 21:2). The precise location remains debated between Kefr Kenna (about four miles northeast of Nazareth) and Khirbet Qana (about nine miles north of Nazareth), with the latter having stronger archaeological support. Cana of Galilee is not mentioned in the Old Testament.
