Chenaanah

Chenaanah (meaning merchant or broken in pieces) is the name of two individuals in the Old Testament. (1) A Benjamite, son of Bilhan, listed in 1 Chronicles 7:10 among the descendants of Benjamin. (2) The father of Zedekiah the prophet, who made iron horns and falsely prophesied that Ahab and Jehoshaphat would gore the Syrians to victory at Ramoth-gilead (1 Kgs. 22:11, 24; 2 Chr. 18:10, 23). This Zedekiah struck the true prophet Micaiah on the cheek for his contradicting report, and his father Chenaanah is remembered only through his son's false prophecy and its disastrous fulfillment when Ahab was killed at Ramoth-gilead.
