Chloe

Chloe (meaning green herb or verdant) was a female Christian mentioned in 1 Corinthians 1:11, where Paul writes that members of her household had informed him of the contentious factions dividing the Corinthian church. Paul names her without apology, indicating she was a person of recognized standing whose household could credibly report on the church's condition. Whether she herself was a believer, a patron of the Corinthian church, or a resident of Ephesus whose household members had recently been in Corinth is not stated. She is among the few women identified by name in Paul's letters in connection with the life of a specific congregation.
