Daystar

Daystar (the morning star) appears twice in the New Testament with distinct applications. In 2 Peter 1:19, the daystar (phosphoros, light-bearer) is promised to rise in the hearts of believers as the fulfillment of prophetic Scripture when the day dawns — pointing to the inner illumination of Christ's truth confirmed by personal experience. In Revelation 2:28 and 22:16, Jesus identifies himself as the "bright and morning star" (ho astēr ho lampros ho prōinos), the supreme celestial marker of a new era's dawn. The image echoes Balaam's prophecy of "a star out of Jacob" (Numbers 24:17) and affirms Christ as the fulfillment of all Israel's messianic hope.
