Drusilla

Drusilla (meaning watered by the dew) was the youngest daughter of Herod Agrippa I and the Jewish wife of the Roman procurator Felix when Paul appeared before him at Caesarea (Acts 24:24). She was renowned in her time for her beauty. Felix, a freedman of low origin who had risen to the governorship of Judea through court connections, had persuaded her to leave her first husband, Aziz king of Emesa, to marry him—a union that Josephus notes as violating Jewish law and that would have been considered scandalous by observant Jews.

When Paul was brought before Felix and Drusilla and reasoned about righteousness, self-control, and the coming judgment, Felix was alarmed and dismissed him with the famous reply: "Go away for now. When I get an opportunity I will summon you" (Acts 24:25)—a postponement that Paul's subsequent detentions made permanent. The historian Josephus later records that Drusilla and her son by Felix perished in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79.
