Eliathah

Person Name

Name meaning: "thou art my God"

Eliathah (meaning to whom God will come or thou art my God) was one of the fourteen sons of Heman the Levite musician — the king's seer in the service of the sanctuary appointed by David (1 Chronicles 25:4). Eliathah was assigned by lot to lead the twentieth course of Levitical musicians in the regular rotation of temple worship (1 Chronicles 25:27). His brothers were similarly assigned to serve in the elaborate musical program David organized for the tabernacle and later the temple, with all twenty-four courses of singers and instrumentalists serving under royal and divine direction.
