Elidad

Elidad (meaning whom God has loved or beloved of God) was a leader of the tribe of Benjamin appointed by God to assist in the division of Canaan among the tribes (Numbers 34:21). He was the son of Chislon and served as one of the tribal representatives who, along with Joshua and Eleazar the high priest, oversaw the formal allotment of the land to the nine and a half tribes west of the Jordan following the completion of the military conquest. Beyond this single reference, Elidad receives no further mention in the biblical text.
