Gibeah of Phinehas

Place

Gibeah of Phinehas was a hill in the territory of Ephraim where Eleazar the son of Aaron was buried. The name derives from Phinehas the priest, son of Eleazar, to whom the hill had been given. After Phinehas died, he was also buried there. The site served as a family burial ground for the priestly line of Aaron in the period of the judges (Josh. 24:33).
