Gimzo

Gimzo (meaning that bulrush) was a town in the Shephelah, the lowland region of Judah between the central hill country and the coastal plain. It is mentioned only once in Scripture, as one of the towns seized by the Philistines during the reign of Ahaz when God used the Philistines to punish Israel's unfaithfulness (2 Chr. 28:18). It may correspond to modern Jimzu, a village near Lydda (Lod).
