Gizonite

Gizonite appears once in Scripture as a designation for Hashem the Gizonite, one of David's mighty men listed in 1 Chronicles 11:34. The term denotes his place of origin, though the location of Gizon is not known from any other source. The parallel list in 2 Samuel 23 may record a slightly different form of the name. Hashem the Gizonite belonged to the elite corps of warriors who served David with exceptional valor.
