Hammoleketh

Hammoleketh (meaning the queen) was the daughter of Machir, the son of Manasseh, and thus a granddaughter of Joseph's son Manasseh. She is mentioned in the genealogy of 1 Chronicles 7:17–18 as the sister of Gilead, and the text records that she bore three sons: Ishhod, Abiezer, and Mahlah. The name hammoleketh (literally the queen in Hebrew, with the definite article) suggests she held a position of significance or authority within the Manassite clan, though the nature of that status is not elaborated.

Her descendant Abiezer gave his name to the Abiezrite clan of Manasseh, making her an important matriarchal figure in the tribal genealogy. The judge Gideon was an Abiezrite (Judg. 6:11, 34), meaning Hammoleketh is an ancestress of Gideon—one of the most prominent figures in the book of Judges.
