Hariph
Person
Hariph (meaning autumnal rain) is the name of a family head in post-exilic Judah. Nehemiah 7:24 lists 112 men of the children of Hariph among those who returned from Babylon. A leader named Hariph also appears among the signatories of the covenant renewal under Nehemiah (Nehemiah 10:19), pledging to walk in God's law and separate from the surrounding peoples. The name may be the same as Jorah in Ezra 2:18, which lists a family group of 112 as well, suggesting a textual variant between the two lists.
