Harsha

Harsha (meaning worker or enchanter) was a temple servant (Nethinim) whose descendants returned from the Babylonian exile with Zerubbabel (Ezra 2:52; Nehemiah 7:54). The Nethinim were a class of temple workers, probably descendants of non-Israelite peoples assigned to menial service in the sanctuary. Their return to Jerusalem after the exile demonstrates the continuity of the temple service community and their attachment to the worship of the God of Israel despite their mixed ethnic origins.
