Hashmonah

Hashmonah (meaning fatness) was the thirtieth stopping place of the Israelites during their forty years of wilderness wandering, situated between Mithkah and Moseroth (Numbers 33:29–30). Its precise location in the Sinai or Negev region has not been definitively identified. Like many of the wilderness station names in Numbers 33, it appears only in the itinerary list and carries no narrative detail. The progression of stations through Numbers 33 traces Israel's route from Egypt to the plains of Moab before the crossing of the Jordan, and Hashmonah represents one waypoint in that long journey through the wilderness.
