Hashubah

Hashubah (meaning estimation or thought) was a son of Zerubbabel listed in the post-exilic Davidic genealogy of 1 Chronicles 3:20. He is one of seven children of Zerubbabel named in this passage, representing the continuation of the royal Davidic line into the Persian period after the return from Babylon. The preservation of these names in the Chronicler's genealogy reflects the ongoing theological importance of the Davidic lineage for the post-exilic community's messianic hope.
