Hasrah

Hasrah (meaning poverty or wanting) was the grandfather of Shallum, the husband of Huldah the prophetess (2 Chronicles 34:22). In the parallel passage of 2 Kings 22:14, Hasrah is given as Harhas — a variant spelling. Shallum held the position of keeper of the wardrobe (possibly the priestly vestments or royal wardrobe), and his wife Huldah was the prophetess whom King Josiah's delegation consulted after the discovery of the book of the law in the temple. Huldah's response confirmed the authenticity of the book and prophesied both judgment on Judah and Josiah's peaceful death before the coming disaster.
