Hazar-addar

Hazar-addar (meaning village of Addar) was a place on the southern boundary of Canaan as defined in the Mosaic land grant (Numbers 34:4; Joshua 15:3). It lay in the Negev, between Kadesh-barnea and Azmon on the prescribed boundary line. The parallel passage in Joshua 15:3 divides the name into "Hezron" and "Addar" — possibly two separate waypoints that were combined into a single compound name in Numbers. The precise location has not been definitively identified, but it lay in the desert region southeast of Beersheba.
