Hazar-enan

Hazar-enan (meaning village of fountains) was a place on the northeastern frontier of Canaan, marking the northeastern corner of the ideal land boundary described in Numbers 34:9–10. It appears again in Ezekiel's vision of restored Israel (Ezekiel 47:17; 48:1) as the northern boundary point of the land. The site has been tentatively identified with Qaryatein in the Syrian desert northeast of Damascus, or with another watered location at the edge of the settled land that would explain the name "village of fountains." The exact location remains uncertain, but it consistently marks the extreme northeastern corner of the ideal Israelite territory in the biblical text.
