Hazar-susah

Hazar-susah (meaning village of the horse or horse yard) was a city in the territory of Simeon (Joshua 19:5), likely the same as Sansannah in Judah's southern territory (Joshua 15:31). It is also identified with Hazar-susim (1 Chronicles 4:31). The horse connection in the name may indicate that the site served as a stable or breeding station in the ancient period — possibly connected to Solomon's horse-trading activities in the region (2 Chronicles 1:14; 9:28). The city lay in the Negev south of Beersheba.
