Hazeroth

Hazeroth (meaning fenced enclosures or villages) was a wilderness station of the Israelites, reached after leaving Kibroth-hattaavah, and the location where Miriam and Aaron criticized Moses for marrying a Cushite woman — and where Miriam was struck with leprosy and subsequently healed after Moses interceded for her (Numbers 11:35; 12:1–16). The site lay along the route from Sinai toward Kadesh-barnea in the Sinai peninsula. After the healing of Miriam, the congregation departed from Hazeroth and camped in the wilderness of Paran. Hazeroth has been tentatively identified with 'Ain Khadra in the northeastern Sinai.
