Hazor-hadattah

Place

Hazor-hadattah (meaning new Hazor, from the Aramaic hadattah meaning "new") was a city in the southernmost district of Judah listed in Joshua 15:25 among the towns near Kedesh in the Negev. The designation "new" distinguishes it from other Hazors, suggesting it was a more recently established settlement or refounded city in the series of desert towns that marked the southern border of Judah's tribal territory. Its precise location has not been identified by modern archaeology.
