Helbon

Helbon (meaning milk; fatness) was a place noted for the quality of its wine, mentioned in Ezekiel's lament over Tyre: "Damascus was thy merchant in the multitude of the wares of thy making, for the multitude of all riches; in the wine of Helbon, and white wool" (Ezek. 27:18). Helbon was evidently a wine-producing district that supplied the luxury markets of Tyre and Damascus. It has been identified with the modern village of Halbun, about 12 miles north of Damascus in a fertile valley still known for viticulture.
