Heleb
Name
Heleb (also Heled or Heldai) was a son of Baanah the Netophathite, one of David's thirty mighty men (2 Sam. 23:29; 1 Chr. 11:30). The variations in spelling across manuscripts reflect the transmission of proper names in ancient Hebrew texts. His hometown Netophah was a village near Bethlehem. Beyond his inclusion in the elite warrior list, no individual exploits of Heleb are recorded in the biblical text.
