Hen

Hen (meaning grace; quiet; rest) was the son of Zephaniah, mentioned in Zechariah 6:14 as one of those in whose honor (or under whose name) the symbolic crown made from silver and gold was to be kept as a memorial in the temple. He may be the same as Josiah son of Zephaniah mentioned in Zechariah 6:10 — Hen being a kindly alternate name (meaning "gracious one"). Beyond this single mention, nothing else is known of him. The domestic bird (hen) is mentioned by Jesus in his lament over Jerusalem: "How often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings" (Matt. 23:37).
