Hiddai

Hiddai (meaning a praise; a cry) was a warrior from the brooks of Gaash in Ephraim, one of David's thirty mighty men (2 Sam. 23:30). In the parallel passage in 1 Chronicles 11:32 he is called Hurai. He belonged to the elite corps of warriors who distinguished themselves in David's service. The brooks of Gaash, near the hill of Gaash in the Ephraim highlands, is also associated with Joshua, who was buried "in the border of his inheritance in Timnath-serah... on the north side of the hill of Gaash" (Josh. 24:30).
