Iphedeiah

Iphedeiah (meaning set free by Jehovah or redemption of the Lord) was a chief of the tribe of Benjamin listed in the genealogy of 1 Chronicles 8:25. He appears among the heads of fathers' houses in the Benjaminite genealogy compiled in that chapter, placed in the line of Shashak. Beyond this single genealogical mention, Iphedeiah receives no individual narrative or further identification in Scripture.

The name carries the characteristic Yahwistic element -iah, indicating personal identification with Israel's covenantal God and reflecting the naming conventions common among the tribe of Benjamin.
