Jaakobah

Name

Name meaning: "supplanter; deceiver; the heel"

Jaakobah (meaning supplanter; deceiver; the heel, essentially the same as Jacob) was a prince or chief of the tribe of Simeon, listed among those whose families increased greatly during the days of King Hezekiah and who expelled the Meunites to occupy the valley of Gedor in the Negev (1 Chr. 4:36–41). He appears only in this genealogical and historical summary of Simeon's later territorial expansion and is not otherwise mentioned in the biblical narrative.
